From the start Profit2 has been very responsive to our questions and have the analytical tools to compile the sales and margin dollars to our liking. Dave and Melissa work well together presenting their recommendations and uncovering margin enhancement opportunities.
What are the results? Notwithstanding Profit2’s best efforts our results have been slow to develop. I firmly believe the distributor needs to fully embrace the process and dedicate resources to take full advantage of what Profit2 can offer. The analytical reports are easy to understand but it takes time and effort to see the desired results. We firmly believe in the Profit2 model and have hired a margin enhancement coordinator to work directly with the Profit2 team going forward.
Would you recommend Profit2? Profit2 has the ability to provide and excellent tool for distributors to understand their pricing successes and challenges, it is still up to the distributor to act upon those findings to take full advantage. I would recommend Profit2 to other distributors but would also suggest taking small steps to reaching your final goals. Pricing is and will remains a very sensitive issue with our customers, and items that in the past might seem incidental are now getting some attention. I think it makes sense to move margins upward over a period of time rather than one big jump.
